Hi there - I'm planning on trying this recipe for your wonderful looking fig jam soon. However, I have just one question: Does "1/2 lemon juice" indicate a half teaspoon, or half of a lemon? Thanks!

I followed this recipe to a T, but would consider cutting the amount of sugar used in this recipe down by 1/4 of a cup. Figs, especially ripe ones, are sweet on their own. Let their natural sugar do the talking!

Hi Karen--It depends how soft they are. If they're pretty firm, they should keep (in a paper bag) about a week. But if they're soft and mushy, they're meant to be eaten/used right away. Hope that helps!

Saray, If it was canned properly and unopened, the jam will probably last for a year or so. If opened, then it probably will last a good 4-6 months. But don't worry, this jam is so amazing it'll be gone in no time! Thanks for stopping by!
